As the third quarter begins we are continuing to work with Accelerated Math in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades on Fridays. The 6th and 7th grades will be learning many new concepts while reinforcing other objectives. The 8th graders are studying Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 and both classes are moving along very nicely.
In science the 6th graders will be starting a unit on “Earth’s Air and Water.” They will investigate the Earth’s atmosphere, oceans, and weather. The 7th graders will continue their study of cell and plant reproduction. Then they will learn about plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes. Eighth grade science this quarter will include a unit on the “Chemistry of Matter.” In this unit they will study the periodic table, atoms and chemical bonds.
Together we can complete a school year that proves rewarding to both my students and me.
